We had a fantastic week at the DLF G&CC covering the International Series India event! With the likes of Bryson Dechambeau, Joaquin Niemann, Anirban Lahiri & many more fan favourites from LIV, it gave us the opportunity to bring you some of our key observations.
1. SPEED IS KEY
The big differentiator is swing speed. It's not just about hitting the ball far. Speed is essential when it comes to launching the ball higher, generating more spin or simply maintaining control over the ball in the wind.
Yes, the professional golfers are younger, eat well & have been training their whole lives. However, as amateur/recreational golfers, we can take an initiative to improve anytime.
Equipment & technique are important. However, the key variable remains Club-head Speed. No matter your age, if you can maintain a moderate level of fitness & combine it with Superspeed training, you can become unbeatable. Even gaining 20 yards on your drive, can truly change our game.

2. SHORTER CLUBS ARE EASIER!
Whether it be Niemann's 3W or Casey's driver, a shorter club, even by 0.25" can help you clear through the ball. This ease translates to improved & consistent contact on the club-face.
Trust us, this is not just about your height. It depends a whole lot on how flexible you are & whether your hips fire properly, at the right time. Getting assessed by the ClubWorks team can help you identify issues in your equipment. Get them rectified to play better.

3. STANDARDISE YOUR SHORT GAME
A common misconception is that Professionals can play out of anywhere. Whether it be a plugged lie in a bunker, deep rough, tucked pin, they are truly unbeatable. What we don't think is how they practice for such situations.
You can truly test your creativity if you learn to first standardise your shots. Then adapti based on the situation. The professionals have always understood their limits & for us, learning to manage risk is crucial. Practice your pitch shots, chips & basic bunker shots. Do this before if you ever try to pull-off shots you have never attempted before!
