ClubWorks Fitter's Opinion: The P790s have always been a great set of irons. Soft feel with a powerful punch, it's a good fit for a player who struggles with distance but still wants the feel of a player's iron. With the 7i at 30.5°, the irons are relatively stronger lofted but the sole width is good enough to provide decent amount of launch. They also are build for forgiveness. You will not struggle with distance on mishits with these!

Science behind the club:
  1. Speedfoam: The all new P790 features ultra-light urethane foam injected inside the head, engineered to push the design limits of face speed while simultaneously improving feel.

  2. Next Generation Forged Progression: New thinner forged face with progressively located ICT design engineered to maximize COR area while improving accuracy.

  3. Low Profile Tungsten Weighting: The newly redesigned P790 features a low-profile tungsten weight designed to give you a lower CG and higher launch.

Shaft profiles:

1. N.S Pro 950GH (Steel): Mid Launch, Mild spin
The Nippon Pro 950GH has been a favorite among golfers of all levels looking to take points off their scores. It features exceptional weight balance and control, with ultra-lightweight design comparable to graphite that makes it easier than ever to swing. And the use of new NSGS8665V alloy co-developed and patented with Nisshin Steel has helped create a revolutionary combination of strength and weight balance.

2. N.S Pro Zelos7 (Steel): High Launch, Mild spin
Designed for slower speed golfers that prefer steel shaft playability. The Nippon Zelos 7 Steel Shaft's light weight and strength have been mutually exclusive. Reducing the weight of steel has lowered its strength, increased the likelihood of breakage and reduced the pliability required to make dynamic shots.

3. UST Mamiya Recoil (Graphite): High Launch, Mid Spin
When you pick up the Recoil Prototype 125, there’s nothing about the feel that says “graphite.”  It has plenty of heft and a nice even balance.  During the swing, there’s a very minimal amount of load and kick; it’s a small but noticeable change from a Dynamic Gold.  It’s at impact that you really sense the difference.  Mishits have none of the sting and shock associated that you normally associate with missing the center of the club face.  Centered hits feel even cleaner than normal, almost as if there was no impact at all.
